Thom Koper, game developer

My name is Thom Koper. I’m a dutch software development student at my second year of studying HBO-ICT at the Amsterdam university of applied sciences. With a level 4 diploma in game development, I accumulated 1 year of work experience in 2 internships at the ministry of defense and XR-Lab.

I have a passion for expanding my skillset and continuously learning new technologies. Whether picking up a new framework or diving into an unfamiliar domain, I thrive on growth. I also really enjoy being part of a team working towards a shared goal, collaborating, exchanging ideas, and collectively building something great is what motivates me most. For 5 years I have been specialising and have student experience in game development. I am also very interested and have started working on networking and back-end servers.

This is Magic Arnold! A school project I made with a group of three. It’s a bullet hell game about a magical character named Arnold. I created it in C# and the Monogame library, with a connection to an SQL database. (Thumbnail is generated with AI!)

This is the Russian Roulette project. It was created by a team of four. In this game, you play a game of Russian Roulette online against each other. But there’s a twist: you have cards that can be played to gain an advantage over your opponent. It was made in C# with the use of the Monogame library, and a custom school socketIO solution.

This is my QR code project. I’m creating a standalone app in C++ where you can provide a link and receive a QR code in return. I’m doing this to teach myself C++, how to work with libraries and how to make a standalone application.
